Mobile play Gaming Invasion 08

Montreal-ers, Mobile played Best Buy's Gaming Invasion this week at Yonge and Dundas Square in Toronto.

They set up this massive tent where people can go in and test out video games that haven't been released yet. Some of the bigger titles include Gears of War 2, Guitar Hero World Tour and Little Big Planet. The was a spiffy little stage in the centre.

The show was pretty sweet. First, members of the band showed off their instrumental skills on the new Guitar Hero. It's really a shame that it doesn't have a vocal option like Rock Band. Of course, they played their own set of songs with real instruments and vocals afterward.

Mat Joly is such a rockstar.

But I came out of the tent temporarily hearing impaired because of the volume. So in short, Mobile rocks. Out loud. Here's some of what I saw:

Mobile - Montreal Calling

Mobile - Out of My Head

Mobile - Teenage Wasteland (The Who Cover)

Mobile - Gravity

Mobile - Daylight Breaks

Those last two tracks were off their new album, Tales From the City. It was released just on the 7th of this month.

WTF? I can't find a single blog post about this band on Hype Machine, or Elbo.ws! They were Juno Award winners last year! Best New Group of the Year for goodness sake! What is this?!

I'LL FIX THAT.

Mobile - Montreal Calling (mp3)(buy)

Mobile - Out of My Head (mp3)(buy)

DAMN STRAIGHT.

If you're in Toronto this weekend, Mobile will be playing another set at the Gaming Invasion at noon on Saturday.
