I've wanted to check out Battles On from the Ghost is Dancing ever since it came out in April. The bright red of the cover art and the track "Dream of a Failed Architect" piqued my interest, but somehow I never got around to it until now.
It's what I expected! It's joyous, quirky, Canadian kids with an ear for hooks and aptitude for the fun. Their press release states theydraw their favourite bands, the Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene and Modest Mouse as major influences, but I also hear the a little of the Los Campesinos! in there too.
