Life Is A Gun

Have you heard that Bedouin Soundclash's frontman is releasing a solo album in the new year?

Peek-a-boo!

Jay Malinowski
's album, Bright Lights & Bruises, is set for release on February 16th, 2010.

This song here is just some simple drums, guitars and voices and it's lovely. I do love the sound of Jay Malinowski's voice. It's got one of those soothing masculine rasps that I can't help but respond to with a girlish sigh. A stripped down acoustic album that focuses on this is going to be a very pleasant listen indeed. According to the official bio, it's the result of hardships and conflicts, band-related and otherwise.

"Being in a band through bad times is the worst marriage ever. You argue all the time, and it's sexless" he says with a laugh. "We started Bedouin Soundclash when we were really young and hadn't gone through many trials yet. You say you're not going to become the cliche, but if you spend enough time around cliches you become one. Basically that's what happened to us, and that's what happened to me."

He'll be touring Canada come March. You know, after he's done shooting a new video in Iceland and running the Olympic Torch in Vancouver. It's true!

Collectively, Bedouin Soundclash will be making an appearance during Canadian Music Week on March 12th at the Mod Club. They'll be launching Pirates Blend Records at the start of the new year, and plan to release another album in the late summer.
